Learning 3D Modelling Again
I’ve recently been watching a ton of documentaries about video games, and something kicked something inside of me into high-gear; this incredible urge – something told me: I want to be a part of that industry. Whether that’s a realistic goal or not, I took the feeling, and let it pretty much do whatever it wanted. This lead me to looking through my old Autodesk Maya projects, from college, one evening.
When thinking about how to get from Point A to Point B in my life, for example this incredible feeling of “wanting to be a part of the 3D industry,” I tend to get very unrealistic when it comes to setting goals, and following through with them. All too often, I’ll set the bar so high, that something could take years to achieve, and then become disappointed when things don’t work out sooner. I’ve decided that I’m going to get back into this, and with taking baby-steps. I’ve re-learned the basics, and am seeing incredible results in such a short period of time. I’m quite proud of my progress, although I realize my Render Settings need work!
3D is always something that’s been dear to me for some bizarre reason, and I’m allowing myself the time needed to approach this, by learning first, and then going crazy with goals, only when I feel the timing is appropriate. This feels healthy.
And this looks awesome! → Looking forward to more 3D modelling, and I’d like to take this to the next step, and buy a 3D printer. Who knows what’s going to happen in the end, but for now, I’m going to enjoy the journey about learning how to do this. #fun
